My sister-in-law turned me on to Pinterest a couple of months ago and I am addicted. Not only have I found tons of recipes I love, but I have also found many craft projects I want to tackle. Now I don't see myself as the craftiest person on the block, but I can usually handle the basics. I had been thinking for a while that I wanted a little table at the end of the cabinets in the kitchen to set my purse on instead of putting it on the counter. My parents happened to have a little table that would work perfectly. Scott and I went home last weekend and I decided it was the perfect time to try to paint it. My dad sanded it down and my parents actually put the 1st couple of coats of paint on it. Once I got back to there house mom and I added the 3rd coat of paint. I probably should have used primer since I was using such a dark color and it would not have taken 3 coats of paint. The paint color is Show Stopper by Sherwin Williams. It looks kinda pink in the pictures, but it's actually red. After the paint dried, I antiqued it using Valspar Antiquing Glaze in Asphaltum. I simply painted it on with a paintbrush and then wiped it off with an old towel. The glaze dried pretty quickly so I had to do it in sections. All in all I felt that it was a pretty easy project.
